Description
Tchaikovsky felt that his Solemn Overture 1812 was “noisy” and was not his best work. It has become one of the most performed works in the orchestral literature. This arrangement of the famous finale includes simulated cannon fire for a supremely impressive ending! Students will learn how to navigate 3-staff writing, effective use of the sostenuto pedal, fast staccato passages, and extensive tremolos in the left hand. Historical notes are included.
