By accessing this website we assume you accept these terms and conditions in full. Do not continue to use Alijam Music’s website if you do not accept all the terms and conditions stated on this page.
The following terminology applies to these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Statement and Disclaimer Notice and any or all Agreements: “Client”, “You” and “Your” refers to you, the person accessing this website and accepting the Company’s terms and conditions. “The Company”, “Ourselves”, “We”, “Our” and “Us”, refers to our Company. “Party”, “Parties”, or “Us”, refers to both the Client and ourselves, or either the Client or ourselves. All terms refer to the offer, acceptance and consideration of payment necessary for the express purpose of meeting the Client’s needs in respect of provision of the Company’s stated products, in accordance with and subject to, prevailing law of United States. Any use of the above terminology or other words in the singular, plural, capitalisation and/or he/she or they, are taken as interchangeable and therefore as referring to same.
Alijam Music is a registered trademark (serial number 88102737) of James L. King III, dba Alijam Music, for the purposes of selling digital sheet music, printed sheet music, and teaching materials for music instructors.
Unless otherwise stated, Alijam Music and/or its licensors own the intellectual property rights for all material on Alijam Music. All intellectual property rights are reserved unless explicitly stated otherwise. You may view and/or print webpages from alijammusic.com for your own personal use, subject to restrictions set in these terms and conditions. You may view, print, share and perform sheet music obtained from our website under the conditions of the license you obtained for that sheet music.
You must not:
- Republish material from alijammusic.com except as permitted by a Creative Commons license for those particular works using that license,
- Sell, rent or sub-license material from alijammusic.com except as permitted by a Creative Commons license for those particular works using that license,
- Reproduce, duplicate or copy material from alijammusic.com except as permitted by a Creative Commons license for those particular works using that license, or as permitted by the purchase of a studio license, or
- Redistribute content from alijammusic.com except as permitted by a Creative Commons license for those particular works using that license, or as permitted by the purchase of a studio license.
SINGLE USER LICENSES for solo pieces allow ONE person to print ONE copy for their (or their student’s) personal use to study and prepare for performance, or view digitally on ONE computer/tablet/smartphone at a time. One may have copies of the single user license download on multiple platforms (computer, laptop, tablet, hardcopy print), but only one of those copies can be in use at any given time to adhere to the conditions of the license. If another hardcopy is printed for any reason, the previous hardcopy must be irretrievably destroyed. For ensembles, a single user license allows a teacher to print enough copies for all ensemble members: i.e. for duets, TWO copies are allowed to be in use simultaneously; for trios, THREE copies are allowed to be in use simultaneously; for quartets, FOUR copies are allowed to be in use simultaneously; and so on. If another hardcopy is printed for any reason, previous hardcopies must be irretrievably destroyed so that the number of existing hardcopies is no more than the number of ensemble parts.
STUDIO LICENSES allow ONE teacher to make UNLIMITED single-user-licensed copies for the students currently studying with that teacher. Studio licenses are not transferable, except as specifically provided for by local or state laws. Studio licenses last for the life of the original purchaser: upon the death of the purchaser, all studio licenses become single user licenses. While the studio license allows one to recover printing and copying costs, it strictly prohibits selling those copies for profit. Copies of sheet music obtained from Alijam Music watermarked with “STUDIO LICENSE” that are possessed by someone who is not the owner of the email address on the watermark are immediately downgraded to single user licenses.
Two works from Alijam Music: Under the Quarter Moon, and Brawl on Duval Street, are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. They are free to download, copy and distribute under the terms of the CC-BY-ND-4.0 license.
Another work from James L. King III, created before the founding of Alijam Music, but included as a part of the overall catalog, Learning the Code, Book 1, 2003 edition, is distributed under the terms of the GNU Free Document License 1.2, similar (but not legally identical) to the CC-BY-ND license. To view complete copies of these more-permissive licenses, visit https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/4.0/ and https://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl-1.2.html
Any printed or distributed digital music from Alijam Music that does not have a watermark, a Creative Commons license, or a GNU Free Document License is considered a single user licensed copy, unless otherwise provably indicated.
Return and Refund Policy
