Description
This Christmas piece has its origins in Renaissance dance, and the happy spirit pervades the entire piece. James L. King III’s arrangement has a little bit of unorthodox jazz reharmonization, a little bit of traditional lyricism, and a little bit of straightforward declamatory hymn-style playing. Historical notes and facsimilies of the original are included.
Key: G Major
Mood: lyrical, moving, happy
Pedagogy: rolled chords, rubato, fermatas, caesuras
