This étude was written in 1887, when Scriabin was just 15 years old, and was one of Scriabin’s first successful pieces. The original, in C# minor, has been transposed to D minor. This arrangement is accessible for most students while keeping the poignant and heartfelt Russian Gypsy style melody.
