Description
This primer-level rote and reading solo introduces the concept of the “riff,” which is a repeated melodic, rhythmic, or harmonic motif. Students play a basic rhythm and melodic pattern in C major, then they slide their hand to A minor and play the same rhythm and fingerings, and slide back up to C major to finish the piece. Letter names are included inside the notes for the Primo part the very first time those notes are played in the piece. The teacher secondo is easy enough to be played by an intermediate student.
