This meditative, comforting piece was composed for worship situations where quiet background music would be useful. The melodic and harmonic rhythm can offer a soothing effect upon the congregation. It may be played on the manual of an organ instead of a piano if desired, or on a keyboard with a calm organ setting or string ensemble. Students can gain experience in playing legatissimo without using the pedal.
