Description
The Liberty Bell started off in 1893 as an untitled composition for Sousa’s unfinished operetta The Devil’s Deputy.
The march is played as part of an exhibit in the Liberty Bell Center in Philadelphia, PA. It has been played at the inaugurations of presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump. It is popular with British military bands.
The first two themes of the march (present in this easy intermediate arrangement) were used as the opening music of the 1970s BBC comedy Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
The arrangement is generally quite easy, but because of a few tricky fingerings and the amount of hand movement, it is leveled as an intermediate piece.
