Description
This “King James” original takes Middle C position to one of its most lush and complex extremes. Starting from one note and growing from there, this piece is delightfully moving. The second section of the piece is an inversion of the first section, so both hands get an equal workout. Careful attention to dynamics and clearly marked rubato, along with smooth legato playing of parallel thirds without the pedal are essential to making this piece shine. Technically, it meets the criteria for an elementary-level work, but because of the dense movement, it is placed at the late-elementary level. It could possibly be the next big “rescue” recital piece!
Key: F major
Mood: calm, reflective, moving
