Description
This spiritual from the coast of South Carolina is not as well-known as other spirituals, but it should be! James L. King III found inspiration from Aaron Copland’s Old American Songs to create a concert-quality late intermediate solo arrangement. Students will play 32nd notes, use lots of rubato and pedal, practice sudden dynamic and articulation changes, and determine their own fingerings
Key: F Major, D minor
Mood: Stately, somber, sometimes bright
