Description
Shufflin’ Down Easy Street was the first piece ever released exclusively by Alijam Music, and is one of “King James'” signature jazzy pieces. It’s medium-tempo with a touch of gospel piano style and an infectious happy-go-lucky feel. It’s complex enough to be performed in a club setting, but easily achieved by intermediate students! It’s fun to listen to, and even more fun to play: it has a very catchy melody that students will be humming for a long time!
Key: C Major
Mood: happy, carefree, optimistic
Pedagogy: grace notes, swing rhythm, triplets, parallel chromatic chords, staccato, tenuto, accents, syncopation

My students love this! This piece is being enjoyed in my studio! My students love the “cool jazz” feel of this one, the triplets and the grace notes! Fun to play! Great piece!
