Marine’s Hymn, The

Description

The Marines’ Hymn is the most recognizable military hymn and the oldest official song in the U.S. Armed Forces. It is a reminder of the sacrifice and courage that Marines have shown on the battlefield. It is an important part of Marine Corps culture — every Marine can recite its three stanzas by heart. This arrangement, on the easy side of intermediate, has some counterpoint and a couple of tasteful chord alterations. It’s a great companion to all the other patriotic pieces arranged at Alijam Music. Historical information, including an excerpt from the Offenbach opera from which the melody of this hymn was inspired, is included.
