Description

This Irish tune has a number of titles, depending on the lyricist: Lough Erin Shore, Gleannt√°in Ghlas’ Ghaoth Dobhair, and Paddy’s Green Shamrock Shore. The lyrics, while all slightly different, come from the Irish Diaspora that happened during the Great Potato Famine of 1845-1849. This arrangement of the main theme is a very easy intermediate level, and can probably be achieved by motivated early intermediate students. It is flowing and lush, with lots of pedal work involved.

Key: D Mixolydian

Mood: calm, melancholy, yearning

Pedagogy: pedaling, finger substitution
